Zada Classic CDI Win

Shawna and Come On III finished the Florida season in style this week with a win and a third place at the Zada WEF Dressage Classic, a CDI competition. On Thursday, Shawna scored a 67.917% in the Prix St. Georges, only 1% behind the winner. This was a good finish in a large class of 50 riders.

On Friday, Shawna was the first rider to go in the large Intermediare I class of about 50 riders. She set the bar early with a 70.250% in windy conditions. Come On was in control and listening to Shawna well throughout the test. The class extended into Saturday as the riders continued to chase Shawna’s score. After the final rider finished at 2:45 in the afternoon on Saturday, Shawna’s score stood at the top for the win.

Shawna and Come On’s performance this week in a very large and talented CDI competition established them on the national level as the pair to watch. Their scores will help their campaign for Gladstone and the Pan American Games. It was a great way to finish the winter Wellington season and will make the drive back to Aiken on Sunday that much smoother.

Shawna would like to thank her friends and sponsors who helped her through the winter season. She extends a special thank you to her friend Michelle Gibson who helped her and Come On throughout the season. She would also like to thank Eric Richman whose farm she rented for the season. Eric’s beautiful and quiet place in Fox Trail was a good training ground for the season and Eric was a wonderfully helpful and friendly host.
