Come On’s first International Competition started with the FEI Jog on Thursday. Come On was a vision of beauty and composure in hand for the jog and was immediately accepted for the competition. With 40 riders from America, Canada , Denmark and South America starting in the Prix St. Georges and Intermediare I, it was a long hot day ahead for riders and judges alike.
Shawna and Come On were 39th to go on Friday at 4:10 in the late afternoon. The Prix St. Georges started out with a good halt but Come On took a step forward in their salute giving them 5’s and 6’s across the board for entrance. The trot work was good, but the rein back took him a bit by surprise and the left canter pirouette lost jump in the canter. They ended up with 67.9% and 7th place.
For the Intermediare I Come On was better. They scored a 68.75% and were 7th again. They rode conservative in their pirouettes and had some swinging in the changes. Overall it was a good test with a lot of room to develop further.
