Shawna and her students shined again on the final day of the USDF Region 3 Championships.
Shawna had two more impressive wins aboard Come On III. He was absolutely ready to go this morning - full of energy but more focused on his work.
Shawna and Come On wowed the crowd early in the day with a 71.750% in the Prix St. Georges Championship. This was a stunning ride that brought them the ‘win’ by almost 3 percentage points in a class filled with several good professional riders. In the afternoon, Shawna rallied Come On for another winning ride in the Fourth Level Freestyle Championship with a score of 72.915%. Shawna expertly managed a rough start in this test to win the class by almost 8 percentage points.
This season has been one highlight after another for Shawna and Come On, and this weekend was no different. They finish the season with 17 wins in 18 events. They proved this weekend what a special partnership they have and what a winning team they are by becoming. They won the Region 3 Championships in three divisions:
- Prix St. Georges Champion
- Fourth Level Champion
- Fourth Level Freestyle Champion
Shawna’s students had excellent rides today as well, including a win and a place. Meghan McCoy continued her excellent weekend by winning the First Level Junior/Young Rider Championship in dominating fashion. Her score of 71.667% was 6 points better than the rest of the class. Meghan finished the weekend with one win and one second - both with scores in the 70’s. Alexandra Pratt took home 6th place today with a solid ride in the First Level - Test 4 Adult Amateur class.
Special thanks to Team Shawna Harding students, Beth Daniels and Carol McElwee, who groomed for Shawna this weekend. They had Come On looking and feeling great throughout the event.
